Old lineart of an interesting character I made awhile back.
She's some kind of cheshire cat, and I have a sneaky suspision that she comes from the same place the Jah does... wherever that is.

Golden Carp by Puffbird

A little graphic I did for the 2007 Big Read project in Southern Utah. I had fun with this. :) Created with vectors in Photoshop. (One day I'll have a proper vector graphics program like Illustrator, but for now I'll use what I've got. :)

Medium: Photoshop
Tags: fish photoshop carp
Noblewoman with cats and Temari by Moussart

Kitty is dressed as a young Edo era Japanese upper-class lady. She is playing with a temari - a small ball made of scraps of fabric covered with silk embroidery. The sparrows on the screen were arranged to look like they're going after the ball too.
Lord Ganesha by Naryu

Ganesha is one of the most worshiped and diverse deities in the Hindu pantheon. Ganesha is known as the the remover of obstacles, and Guardian of the thresholds. This was commissioned by one of the Yoga Studio Directors shortly before I got let go. I was hesitant to post it as it very much was a working experiment for me. This piece is done entirely in illustrator, and with the gradient mesh tool. now I know its not /perfect/ but this taught me alot about how to use that took for lighting and what not

Medium: illustrator
Tags: Lotus elephant god Ganesha hindu ganesh
Earth Rat by Naryu

Every year I made a Chinese New Year poster (well ok.. i started it last year) but Im making it a new tradition ;3
So here we go, for the new year, The Earth rat! I tried to incorporate as much symbolizers as I knew, I know traditionally the colours in Chinese are red for luck, but "Earth" didn't look right conveyed as such. The gourds tied to his tail are bottle gourds They are symbols of luck, It is thought that the gourd holds magic nectar which is consumed by many Buddhist deities. Sau, the Chinese god of longevity brandishes the gourd at the end of his staff, this is said to contain the elixir of immortality. The symbol in the background is a Shou, another symbol for longevity (often painted onto the dried gourds) and of course wirrten in Chinese is "恭喜发财" (Happy New years) May the year of the Rat bring Prosperity to all!

Medium: illustrator
Tags: rat chinese new rodent years gourd
Zero's Spoon by DimeSpin

This is 041465 of the Blood Gold Hive - or just Zero. She is her Queen's most trusted servant and acts as a kind of second in command and proxy. She frequently makes decisions for the Queen in her absence.

She was part of the group that left with a young Queen that had lost the fight for that hive's throne, so Zero is actually the Queen's sister.

Members of the royal party in Melliferian hives are discouraged from having other important jobs, since they need to be available at any time for the Queen. Without useful things to do with the majority of their time, they nurture their eccentricities. Zero has a thing for spoons and collects them.

Medium: The GIMP
Tags: bug insect bee wasp Melliferian
Queen Amber Rust by DimeSpin

Queen Amber Rust. She's a young Queen of an old established hive. She's a kind, soft spoken lady, but she also has a terrible, cold kind of intelligence. Some people are good because they could not conceive of doing something cruel. Amber Rust is good because she feels benevolence is the best policy 99% of the time. It's the remaining 1% of the time that blindsides people.

Yerf: syn-easterninfluenceiv.jpg by Synnabar

Inspired by the Far Eastern Asian and Indian artwork I'd been looking at; these were swimming around in my head for a while. The lower right is sort of like a feline Kuan Yin. The upper left (in the caftan) is hand-less on purpose (I see it as a sort of spirit or... something). Oh, and I do like elephants! I made up the ornamentation on him.
